Perfect Pecan Pie

To make the crust:

  1. Sift flour and salt together into a bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening using a pastry cutter, two knives, or a fork.
  3. Slowly add water and mix until dough forms. Form into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Flour worksurface and roll out crust into a circle.

To make the filling:

  1. In a medium bowl, beat eggs with a hand mixer for 2 minutes.
  2. Add Splenda Granulated Sweetener, Splenda Multi-Use Syrup, and salt and mix for 2 minutes to combine.
  3. Stir in cooled butter, chopped pecans, and vanilla with a spoon.

 To make the pie:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place uncooked pie crust in 9-inch pie pan pressing down to the bottom of the pan and crimping along the edges.
  3. Pour the filling into uncooked pie crust and bake for 45-55 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
  5. Once cool, slice and serve.
