Instructions

  1. In a large, heavy saucepan, stir together Splenda Sweetener, arrowroot or cornstarch, and nutmeg.
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks until smooth. Add to dry ingredients, whisking until blended. Gradually whisk in milk.
  3. Cook mixture over low heat, whisking constantly, until the temperature reaches 175°F, 5–8 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in half-and-half. Let cool.
  5. Cover and chill 3 hours or up to 3 days. Stir in vanilla extract just before serving.
