Beef Satay with Peanut Sauce

For the marinated beef skewers

  1. In a medium saucepot, mix together all the ingredients; bring to a simmer then allow to cool.
  2. Pour marinade over the slices steak and let marinate in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours or overnight.
  3. Soak the wooden skewers in water.
  4. Take the steak out of the marinade and discard any allspice corns.
  5. Skewer the steak pieces lengthwise and place on a sheet tray.
  6. Broil for 5 minutes or to preferred doneness.

For the sauce

  1. Sauté onion, garlic and ginger in olive oil until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a simmer.
  3. Blend with an immersion blender or food processor until smooth.
  4. Serve with beef satay skewers.
