Findings from Azad et al. (2017) do not align with conclusions of high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analysis that show low calorie sweeteners, including sucralose, are safe and beneficial for weight management. As ISA describes, study design is essential to consider. The collective body of evidence reviewed around the world and supported by medical and health associations continues to confirm the benefits of using sucralose as part of a healthy diet.
