What is allulose?

Splenda Allulose gets its unique sweetness from allulose, a plant-based sweetener.  Allulose is not metabolized by the body for energy. We begin with corn and convert it to allulose using an enzyme, similar to the process used to make cheese or wine.  It then undergoes a process to purify, filter, and crystalize the allulose.
