Enjoy the Foods You Love... Again
SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener is exciting news for people with diabetes, because it can help you and your family enjoy the sweet taste of foods and beverages again, without all the calories and carbohydrates of sugar.
People with Diabetes can Enjoy the Great Sugar-Like Taste of SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener!
Sucralose, or SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener, the no calorie sweetening ingredient in SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, is not a carbohydrate and has been shown in studies to have no effect on blood glucose control or insulin levels.
Like other tabletop sweeteners, the granular and packet products contain bulking ingredients, dextrose and/or maltodextrin, which are natural food ingredients. These ingredients provide volume and contain an insignificant amount of carbohydrate (less than 1 gram) and calories (less than 5) per serving, so that SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener meets FDA's standards for "no-calorie" foods.
Sucralose is an Ok 'ose'
Though you might have heard anything ending in "ose" means sugar and should be used in moderation, sucralose, the sweetening ingredient in SPLENDA® Brand Sweetener, is an OK "ose". It is not recognized by the body as sugar or as a carbohydrate and has no calories. Sucralose has also been shown not to cause a rise in hemoglobin A1c (a measure of your average blood glucose level over time).
The Convenience of Sugar without the Carbohydrates.
SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener can lower carbohydrates and calories in recipes. For example, a cup of SPLENDA® Granular has 96 calories and 24 grams of carbohydrates, compared to the 770 calories and 192 grams of carbs found in a cup of sugar. Since SPLENDA® Granular measures and pours like sugar, you can use it like sugar in your favorite recipes. For your favorite beverages, SPLENDA® Packets are the perfect size to take with you anywhere you go.
